Field Application Engineer

JOB TITLE:

Field Application Engineer

DEPARTMENT:

Sales/RMO

RESPONSIBLE FOR:

Applications/Systems Engineering Support in the Field/Japan Sales and Business Development

SUMMARY OF JOB FUNCTION:

Technical interface between sales, customer, and divisions. Assist account manager in presenting to customers and answering technical questions for all products in the Oclaro portfolio. Represent customer technical needs to the division. Assist in providing market trends and product needs to divisoin. Training of sales and manufacturer's reps as required. Key player in winning design slots.

WORK LOCATION:

Japan

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

·                    A lead technical representative to the customer for all Oclaro products

·                    Present all Oclaro products to customer

·                    Prepare application notes for customers to assist in the use of our products

·                    Assist customers in lab environment or field set up, troubleshooting, and maintenance

·                    Provide market trends and needs analysis

·                    Assist sales in providing technical information to customers and assessing customer requirements

·                    Provide technical responses to customer RFQ's

·                    Train sales on all Oclaro products and their application

·                    Design Wins

·                    Resolution of quality issues, key liaison between internal teams and customers

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS and QUALIFICATIONS:

·                    Graduate from an accredited university with significant coursework in optics/physics

·                    Minimum of 5-7 years experience working directly with customers as the technical interface in a high tech environment

·                    Minimum of 2 years experience in R&D with major telecom system house or related optical products Demonstrated experience in technical writing

·                    Team Player

·                    Willing to travel internationally

·                    Self Motivated

·                    Ability to speak and write fluent English

二、职位情况

Requirement:

1.    BS or higher degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent;

2.    8+ years experience in high-tech automated systems development focus on mechanical design.

3.    Proficient in 3D design tools ( Solidworks preferred).

4.   Previous experience on high precision automated system development would be a great plus.

5.    Previous experience on Electric/Optic industry automated system development would get prominent plus

6.    Good communication and presentation skills

7.    Project / team management experience would get prominent plus.

Responsibilities:

1.    Work with a group of software, electric and process engineers to quickly develop high-tech automated systems/lines.

2.    Responsible for automated system conceptual/detail design, parts procurement, setup, calibration and trouble shooting, etc.

3.    Closely collaborate with Automation team in US for Automated system Co-development (international travels required).

4.    Process automation equipments transfer.
